First, I give all the glory to God for allowing me to come out of my comfort zone to be placed in a Christian environment that is tailor-made by God. The Holy Spirit had inspired me to begin working with children at Family Cathedral of Praise in 1999. As the Childrens Director, I ministered to the children in our church, school and daycare. As the church has grown, it has enabled us to train and enable Betty Hastings as a church and school director along with Kim Rion as a daycare director. These changes have allowed me the privilege and opportunity to serve in the church as a facilitator and planner for church events, ministry in the First Impression’s Volunteers, assisting my husband with the New Beginners Sunday School class and working with many members in the church, school and daycare. My parents were Pastors of The Sanctuary Church, in Fort Worth Texas. They began a small church by ministering in the Teen Challenge building to the hearing impaired. At the age of nine, I began interpreting to my little deaf friends and grew into the teenage years enjoying these friends. As many of them moved to Austin for their schooling, the Jesus Movement had begun to spread into Fort Worth. My mother and father enjoyed ministering to those who were had a hunger for the Lord. So as their ministry changed, and my friends moved away, my life began to change. I grew into a young lady, married, moved to San Antonio, had my babies (twins) and began my family. Returning to the Dallas Fort Worth area in 1985, I began working for LTV in Grand Prairie. The name of the company changed several times and today is called “Lockheed Martin”. After 13 years of facilitating, program planning, inventory, training and production, the Lord called me into the ministry of our church. Today I celebrate the joys of family life with my husband, Douglas Herrell, my twins and children; Jonathan & Jodi, Joshua, Seth, Aaron, and grand-children, Brittany, Sebastian & Christian. One of the greatest joys I have is watching our children and grandchildren praising our Lord. God has blessed us and them.
